Grenada is home to just over 100,000 people. The country is tourism based, small, open economy with 77% of GDP being generated by the service sector. Over the past two decades, the economy has shifted from being agricultural dominant to services dominant, with tourism being the leading foreign currency earning sector. The country’s principal exports are nutmeg and mace- with Grenada being the second largest exporter of mace after Indonesia. Other exports include cocoa, citrus fruits, bananas, cloves and cinnamon.
The official language is English, and Grenadian culture is a mixture of British, African, West Indian and French influences.
